Last year, on a bright Spring day there was a lost little girl who was wandering around the heady urban sights of Bristol. Timid, and asking random strangers for an address tucked away down a side road, she tip-toed up the steps and was greeted by a warm sight of smiling faces, welcoming hugs from long-time acquaintances she had only known through something called the blogosphere.
I took a big step up in my world last year by attending the first ever sex blogger and erotica writers’ conference, Eroticon that had been organised by the writer, Ruby Kiddell.
I had never met any of these people before and honestly speaking, I was terrified.
I went anyway in spite of my nerves and after a shaky start – mostly caused by getting lost – I ended up sitting at a round table with Blacksilk, Innocent Loverboy and Jilly Boyd ready for the introductory speech. Before the end of the day I felt at home. Something I discovered at Eroticon is that everyone – EVERYONE is wonderfully supportive, friendly and encouraging.
I would encourage anyone who is within this catchment of sex blogger, writer of erotica, poet, photographer – hell – even if you’re a reader, pluck up your courage and come along.
You won’t regret it. I’m so glad I took those steps up into last year’s venue.
This year, Eroticon is being held over a two-day weekend in London. Tickets are available here.

Must attend Eroticon 2013 session: Finessing Sex : K D Grace. I’m really looking to develop my writing both here on the blog and potentially for publication. I actually find writing the act of sex a tad difficult, instead romping around the issue with foreplay and sensual description so this is a must-go session for me.
Bloggers you’d like to be trapped in the lift with: I’m going to go beyond the fabulous lovelies I have met before and choose people I’ve not yet had the pleasure of being introduced to. Surely being stuck in a lift with Plumptious Pea, Mina and Mia More is a pleasant way to spend suspended in a 100ft shaft?
Erotic writer you’d like to dramatize your life story: Here’s my confession – I don’t read as much erotica as I most probably should. Other than blogs and owning a few dirty books my reading is fairly limited. Shame on me indeed. And I used to devour books. Damn this job, and Mister, eating up all my time.
Expected biggest fangirl / fanboy moment: Most probably meeting Mina (and I damn well will pluck up the courage to do so!)
What keeps you awake at nights? Mister. And fretting about work. I’ve always loved the homophone implications of stating that I’m a worrier.
See who else is coming to Eroticon 2013 in the Meet & Greet link uphere
Aww Lady P.. I can’t wait to meet you, either!

Oh! I’m so so excited. And I couldn’t agree more about coming away with a sense of belonging. Everyone was just so wonderfully inclusive. It’s going to be a wonderful weekend.
(P.S. I don’t read as much erotica as I should either…)
*chuckles* now this would be a lovely lift to be stuck in! You best muster up the courage to meet me my dear, if it helps with the nerves, we’ve met but not properly at the last eroticon. Well actually, briefly at the restaurant after it was over.
Oh my goodness! I guess we have, it was all a tad of a blur by then having had a glass of wine (whoops). I’ll be doubly sure to have a proper conversation this time xo
